WELCOME sign with PINEAPPLE

Back to my Punch Needle for a little change of pace.
Here's a sketch of my design that has been inspired by several seen on that naughty 'Pinterest'.
It measures approximately 4" x 12"... a nice size that will eventually be framed for our entry way.
So far I am pleased with the progress..
A closer look at the pineapple for which I used
a Valdani varigated floss.
Am using stitch depth #2 for the letters, pineapple and leaves.
All the rest will be #1 setting...
I like the subtle interest it provides..something like embossing.

Will be spending some time on my hooked rug next...
as soon as I can decide on a color for the wool strips &
because I am sooo unpredictably impulsive.

Thanks all...for visiting.
Hope your Thanksgiving was great...
Daughter Pam, Son Jeff, DIL Cassie and Grandson Kyle
teamed together to make ours awesome.

Peace & Blessings for all,

FIRST TIME HOOKED RUG

FIRST TIME FOR ME!
Hope my Grandma is looking down on me
and guiding with her expertise.

Not that I need any more projects
cause my bucket lists are getting very full.

Here is my sketch ... as I looked for inspiration and finally found this from 'oldcolonyprimitives'.
To now "oldecolonyprimitives"
Designed by Stephanie Haber.

Stephanie was kind enough to allow me to use her design for my sloped foot rest... Thank you LOTS Stephanie.

I have some strips(worms-yuk), burlap(this is what my Granma used) and I have one of her hooks. Also purchased a 12" square Rug hooking frame.

'Tis time for the fun to begin...hopefully.

Ohhh my ... off to a sad start,
but it is my first time.

Thanks for visiting,
"God Blessed America"
Peace for ALL,

a"Halloween" pillow tuck.

and now all by itself... 'SIMPLE'.

I am doing another of those 'Happy Dances' ...
one you do not want to see.

Now, off searching for a small, rug hooking, gripper, lap, frame ... one in 'good used condition' if possible.
The search is on...
do ya know of any one wanting to sell one of theirs???

SAL Sampler from Blackbird Designs

It is finished and framed.

~ HERE IT IS ~
It is a SAL pattern from "Blackbird Designs."
I started this back in June...working on it
in between other endeavors.
It  has been aged to give it a tyme worn look.
I love strawberries, anyway I can get 'em.
There is only 5 on here
but they caught my attention.
I laced it to foam core board.
Purchased an unfinished custom made frame.
Gave it the faux tortoise grain finish.
Tried not to get too many reflections but
that is almost impossible for me.

Just another of my updates.
Thanks so much for visiting.

Too late for our 2015 Halloween

PLUM STREET SAMPLERS:

Jack's Sweet Shoppe: Olga's Tart!

~ ~ ~

Didn't make it in time for 2015 Halloween.
So here it is now...Drum roll please,
cause it is adorable.

It is 4" round.
I almost went blind on the small 36 count linen.
Instead, I have managed to loose my hearing...NO JOKE.
I hate hearing aids and not hearing like I used to,
but better that than my eyes...
I am thankful for small blessings.

YES ~ Tis SOLD
Thank you so much... Hope you will enjoy as much as I did creating it.  It was a 'FUN' project in spite of the 36 count linen.

Have an early HAPPY HALLOWEEN

and Peace for all,

Barb

THIS IS B I G ~

This is my first really big punch needle project...
I L O V E  the design &
the size did not discourage me.
It is "Autumn Sampler" by Doreen Frost.
Had to purchase a 17" Morgan Hoop.
Can't really tell much from this picture
as is in its very early stages.
I do have all the black done.
Now it will all be fill-in with the orange...
 easy peasy
Here's an idea that may be helpful to you Punchin' Ladies.
I set my Punch Needle, "Floss Keep Pot"
(Pots made by me, available on my Etsy)
and placed it up on this wooden pedestal.
It has been a tremendous help keeping the floss clear
and out of my way when rotating and turning the hoop during the punching process.
I just might use this method for all my punchin'.

Looks like I just may be punching more biggies too...
gots to put that 17" hoop to work.

Thanks for visiting...Enjoy the week
Peace for all
God Bless America & the Donald too...
Keep safe everyone

HAPPY THOUGHTS & DOINGS

I DESPERATELY NEED A CHANGE OF PACE AND THOUGHTS.

How about a nice bowl of Strawberries???
I have been collecting and making for a couple of years...
more so recently.
These are such fun for me.
There are so many ways that you can embellish them...
that's the part I enjoy the most.
It's great deviation from the time consuming
 'counted cross-stitch'. (I am a slow stitcher)
It's more like "instant gratification".

Here's one more shot of the same strawberries...
just want to keep you bored with my mundane doings.
For now,
I'm Goin' to work on some of my Cross stitch...
Ooopps....Well, variety is good for what ails ya.

No More TV ... just prayers for those who need it.

* * *
Peace & Blessings to all,
Barb

P.S. To previous post...Sad and Scary!

These were taken just before sunset, last night.
 Today more of the same...

Please PRAY for the people and animals...

2nd time in a week...

Last week it was the 'Pilot Fire'...
NOW

(Blue Cut fire)
The Cajon/Devore
We are being ravaged with soot, smoke, losses and sadness...The loss of animal life is overwhelming.
Thank God, so far no human life has been lost...
Close calls but none so far.

* * *
Pictures taken from our back yard.
We are on the East side of the Mojave River in
Apple Valley, CA.  The river is underground, no surface water to be seen.  .I have been  told the Mojave River flows North and East, underground in most places, through Hesperia, Victorville, and Barstow...opposite of what rivers West of the 'Continental Divide' run.
So again, we spend our time indoors...
the air is too unhealthy.
None-the-less,
we have much for which to be Thankful...

~GOD BLESS US ALL~

PUNCH NEEDLE ORNAMENTS

I am burnt out...
Almost finished...
2 of each = 8
Each design is a little different from the original
Can you see the difference?
Background fabric is NOT good, but I am burned out
sooo... it is what it is.
Will be making one more of each design
hopefully before Christmas.
* * *
We are having heavy smoke and ashes directly
over our home from the 'Pilot Fire'.
It is burning on the  north side of San Bernardino Mtns.
Just below Lake Arrowhead.
We have no pine trees, just dried brush...still
very flammable.  Lucky for us we are on the East Shore of the Mojave  River...a lot of sand, NO  WATER, NO Trees,
Only the ones we planted ...7 to be exact.
Over 4500 Acres have burned and it is VERY WINDY...
NOT A GOOD COMBINATION in 90 plus degree temps.
I am talking about two different kinds of burn outs...
my emotions and the really bad kind.
My emotions will subside, but these Fires are
devastating in so many ways...and recovery can be
painful and long term.
So I pray for those who need it more than I.

Peace and Blessings for all,
GOD BLESS AMERICA

A NEEDFUL FLOSS KEEP POT with LID

I have been working on these sweet, prim looking
NEEDFUL FLOSS KEEP POTS
for the last few days.
I LUV Punch Needle Art, and have been inspired to do something for the floss to help keep it
organized and out of the way while punching.
Sooo...
here is what I have been thinking & creating.
Paper mache pots have been sealed
and painted inside and out,
top and bottom.

A generous Center hole was added
in the LID for the thread.
The pot is 3" x 3" x 3" with enough
room for more than one spool of floss...
one of which is then pulled thru the
neat and tidy hole,
ready to thread the punch needle.

Aged trim was secured to the lid's rim.

The exterior of the bottom of the pot
was sealed & painted charcoal.

I found various primitive prints that
fit the project very nicely.

I am delighted (hope you are too) with how
great these turned out...
surely to become a Puncher's Dream come true.

These would be terrific gifts for special
'punching' friends
OR
Treat yourself Too.

FARM FRESH ~ SOLD
Let Freedom Ring-SHEEP ~ SOLD

Asking $12 each POT (PLUS SHIPPING)
(will combine shipping for additional items.)
