A BUNNY RABBIT WEATHER VANE

I love vintage and antique weather vanes.

Easter Bunnies and Rabbits inspired this small design.

Displayed in one of my oval rusty pans

With trim...

 OR

 Without trim...  

It is a small pattern ... only 3 1/2" x 5".
The designing was more consuming
than the actual punching.  Making this a sweet
and relaxing project for an Easter-tide decoration.

The second picture shows off the eggshell 
design as in a sugar/diorama styled Egg.

The Rabbit, his tail and lavender flowers are 
longer loops for a more dimensional appearance.
The weather vane was punched with variegated  floss...
thinking that the real and wonderful antique
weather vanes always show years of weathering...

For me the Question of the day is???

 WITH trim

or

WITHOUT trim.

I am pleased either way...
BUT, 
in hind sight, I would extend and enlarge the 
egg edges so that so much of it is not hidden 
and lost with the overlapping pom pom trim...
Thus increasing the size to approximately 4" x 5 1/2", 
and NOT fitting in my oval pan.

We think the 'Easter Bunny Rabbit Weather Vane'
 is too sweet for Easter-tide celebrations.

EASTER DELIVERY

Easter is quickly approaching...

I just finished another small punch needle design 

in one of my rusty tin pans.

 This too I have displayed on a small easel.

His fluffy tail is so sweet...and the inside of the tin pan 

is lined with some lace I had laying around.

 Love the way the blue sky and wispy clouds turned out.

 The Easter Rabbit and Eggs is a folkloric figure and symbol of Easter, depicted as a rabbit bringing Easter eggs. Originating among German Lutherans, the "Easter Hare" originally played the role of a judge, evaluating whether children were good or disobedient in behavior at the start of the season of Eastertide.

 Just thought you'd like to know...

This would also be a sweet pillow.
Hang it from a closet knob or shelf peg...
just add a loop for the hanger. 
Tuck it in a grapevine wreath...

The LUV of our family life...

Rusty...
Who else?  Our fairly new and adopted  family member.

That is not his tongue...

It's one of his many doggie biscuits.

I find them hidden all around the house.

He keeps us entertained and full of surprises...

'Rusty Rules ' in our home.

We think he is a Viszla...maybe the runt of his litter 

as he is on the small size.  He lives up to their characteristics

and sticks to Papa like GLUE and loves pillows.  Also loves to burrow, we never had a dog that did this. 

Whatever he is...he is a keeper and a Blessing.

Yes, this is really sweet...Perfect for Valentine's Day too.

However, I like to think that LOVE is in Season all year.

It is my 3rd Heart Butter Mold Design...

I am thinking about hanging it from this 
BIG rusty key... 

Like in a key to my heart.

OR 

This 'Heart in my Hands' idea, displayed in a pair of 

open hands milk glass dish that I have had for 
some time and now finding another use for it.

The cotton hand dyed ric rac is sandwiched in between 
a whip stitched black wool backing. 
Detailed instructions are included with the pattern.

No stuffing, but I did consider that...maybe next time.

 measure  approx. 4 1/2" tall by 4 1/2" wide finished.
I have it displayed in one of my rusty tin pans.
  It can be made into a small pillow and use as a tuck… 
an ornament, add a loop and hang from door/cabinet knobs… 
It is the perfect size for framing, 
and would also look great mounted on an 
old basket or wood box… 
just IMAGINE.
