This was so much fun ... Reward of Merit Pincushion. 

I used chenille trim around the edges.
Filled with ground English walnut shells.

It will be given as a gift to one of my girls.

#1 - I used incandescent lighting...

#2 - just natural light from the good ole sun.
I doo believe I like the warmth in #1 Best.

Anyways, it is a delightful pattern from 'Blackbird Designs'.

my Great,Great Grandmother's name,
Tamar Angevine,born April 22, 1811.
married to Isaac W. Moseman.
HOPE I have not bored you too much.
Just maybe someone looking for her ancestry
will find this bit of info...just maybe.
Then we can connect ...

It only took me 18 months to get this dress made ... I am a sad case.

Now she needs some undies...

NOT 18 months...I just finished her pantaloons!

...Tamar has pantaloons ... 
She is now respectable!

I have been busy...actually, it's been more like R&R, 

after the holidays.

I just completed these 3 'Christmas Strawberry' by Nickyscreations.

They were 

meant to be used as ornaments.

Well, I plan on using them as bowl fillers year round.

I love them and they were quick and easy.

My limited Dept 56 village on the credenza...

WHEELER's Bicycle Shop (my maiden name)...

CHURCH (Reminds me of 'Our Lady of the Snow' in Woodstock, VT. where we used to attend masses)...

TRAIN STATION (This one reminds me of the train depot in Hawthorne, N.Y. where, as a child, we would ride to Grand Central Station, N.Y.)...

I gave the rest of my collection to 

my children for them to enjoy now.

Last year I started collecting these 

'bottle brush Christmas Trees from the 40's

~that makes them as old as me and hubs'~

It has been a challenge...I am not sure, 

but I do believe they are from Germany. 

If anyone can shed some light...I would love to know.

Our Sandy strung and provided the Garland of Cranberries 

from about ten years back.  

I save them from year to year... they are wonderful dried. 

The Church was from my 9th Christmas...It has done a LOT of traveling and I love including the 

Vintage Christmas Trees in the display.

Of course the 'Memories Christmas Tree' 
has second center stage...after the 'Nativity' display.

It includes some Kugel Ornaments from my 

fathers childhood, as well as several ornaments from mine

and also from my 50 years of marriage to the 'love of my life', Chuck and from our four children's Christmases too.

My maternal Grandmother crocheted the 'BREAD' doilie, 

which I had framed to preserve.

here in the Dining Room area.

This year I took a fancy to collecting some pewter.  

Some of my recently acquired treasures are displayed

in my pewter cabinet plus 

more of my Belsnickles, 

my hand sculpted paper mache Santa ornaments,
My treasured Red Cardinal from Audrey,
the Weatherfield Merino Sheep from Doreen,
the Santa with Lamb sitting on lamp table a gift from Starla

and a few more family heirlooms.

Wine Barrels with Herbs

My half wine barrels are brimming with my Herbs

& tomatoe plants too.

Not bad, considering this is in the Mojave Desert.

Love it...

This is called Xeriscape Landscaping ... NO GRASS.
Our St. Francis statue oversees it all ...

My Izannah Walker Workshop Doll ~ Tamar Angevine

Not much to look at ... but, I have finally started the doll pattern provided in Dixie Redmonds Workshop.

Am using Wool Roving for stuffing and can't wait to start sculpting.  

Again, these will be named after a very distant relative ,

and will make two just in case I need spare parts

My First attempt at X-Stitch

I recently finished 'Dutch Strawberries' ~ My first attempt at X-Stitch.

I love the Strawberry Motif. Soon I will be starting another Sampler with strawberries 

'The Heloise Williams Sampler'.

I really love this one and wanted to experiment with a smaller one first. Guess I am hooked.

Next is getting it framed

... 

It will fit a 5" x 7" frame.

Actually, I decided to mount it on 'Acid Free Foam Board' myself.
The frame was purchased and I am totally pleased with it. 
It has a Tortoise Shell faux finish look.

She is now wearing her Pantaloons ...

I cartridge pleated her skirt ... & LOVE the way it looks.

YUP ... Sleeves are a bit too short.
Oh well, I love her anyway.

Here is Bethiah Storm ~ 002 painted.
Next, I will do a crackle on her and will show that in a day or two...
As you can see her cheeks need some fixin'.

Something of a TUTORIAL...
My most recent painting is finished...I started to photo the process, but after I got the backrounds based in I got carried away...I LOVE detail work.
First...my rough sketch.
Second...a more refined sketch to scale
5" x 7" in this case.


Third...Design is now traced to a Velum so that
I may apply to painting surface.
Fourth...The sky and hillside colors are base coated,
now ready for the actual pattern to be applied.


Like I said...I got carried away.
Once I started painting the subject matter I just kept going.
It's like 'breaking the ice' for me.
