Taaa Daaa Take a LOOK.

Definitely NO embellishing.
Not even going to think about it.
Olde Pennsylvania Butter Stamp
I like it like it is...
the mini pom poms
just were not meant for this one.

A really close up look.

I dooo like it...
and the rusty heart pan is perfect for this.

A SNEEK PREVIEW

Started punchin' this morning...
This is the backside...lookin' pretty to me.
 Hope to finish this weekend.
Will show the front side then...hope it will be prettier.
Just a little tease for now...

P.S.:
YES, I finally caved in to embellishing the
1800's Heart Butter Mold.
To me it now looks finished.

Just started another HEART Design...

I have just sketched another HEART design. This one is reminiscent of an Olde Pennsylvania Butter Stamp.
* * *
I recently purchased a few of these sweet rusty tin heart pans.
Now, I must find some use for them.
I am pleased and will be anxious to see how this one
turns out with my new punch needle design.

'Tis pouring rain this morning with some snow flurries mixed in.
I'd be happy with only SNOW.
...shut my mouth and be happy with the rain...
WE NEED IT DESPERATELY.

1800's Butter Mold ~ HEART

EXCEPT FOR SOME EMBELLISHMENT...
The punching is done.
Maybe a charm??? but where to put it???
I thought of some tiny trim tucked in around
the heart and the rusty tin pan framing it.
Not really sure, but it needs something.
maybe NOT...Less is More.
For now I like the small easel for display.
That may change in due time.

1800's BUTTER MOLD HEART~Punch Needle Design

I saw a 1800 Butter Mold design with a heart, loved it
and have been working on a design for Valentine's Day.
***
A closer look of my sketching...
***
This is the backside of my Punch Needle Design,
which I think is prettier than the front...for now.
***
I like intrigue...
So I will wait 'til it is finished for the rest of this story.
Hope to see ya then.

Thanks for visiting,

A QWIK LOOK...'Tis Framed.

Spent the afternoon painting the frame
with my all time favorite...
The 'Tortoise shell' finish.
Looking good...now I have to clean house
after putting Christmas Decorations away...
and then find a spot for it.
Just wanted to share with a qwik note...
Thanks for visiting & have a great day.

First time Hooking...

This has been a slow process for me...learning as I go with my share of 'goof ups'.
Actually, I think I am allergic to this burlap (am using it 'cause my Grama used it) and she was always an inspiration to me.
After about 10 to 15 minutes of hooking
my eyes begin to burn and water.
Sounds like allergies to me.
I know I am hooking too tight
(after doing some research on various tutorials),
but that is part of the learning curve...right?

Also, if you look closely, the dark strips have a lot of loose threads
that seem to be a problem for me...or is it just me?
So now I am seriously thinking of making this smaller.
The size of my foot rest top is 9" x 17".
Perhaps 7" x 15" or so, thus giving me a
1" to 1 1/2" border all around.  Sounds good to me.
Don't think I will continue using this burlap after this project.
That means finding another suitable backing
for the primitive look and feel that I love.
I am open for suggestions.
Any HELP will be greatly appreciated.

Punchin' 'N Hookin'

Happy 2017 to ALL
with Blessings & Peace as always.
* * *
I really did not have much 'Play time' during the
Christmas Holidays.
'WELCOME' punch needle is finished but now must work on giving the the frame a faux finish...
am still undecided about which one to do.
The design was laced to a foam core backing
which fits nicely into this frame.
As I was about to finish this piece I conveniently ran out of floss for the background...which happened to be DMC, Ecru that I coffee stained with Chuck's left over coffee some time ago.
Not having anymore of that particular color of floss in my stash meant trekking to HL (8 miles one way).
The real challenge was getting the stain to match.
There is a subtle difference.
It's 'Primitive', this is my justification.

As soon as the Holiday dust settles, I'll be painting the frame.

Hope you all had a wonderful Christmas and Happy New Year too.

Gots to paint that frame and then do some hookin'...

Gonna keep out of the kitchen for a while...
