My Interpretation of a Primitive Portrait by Belknap

I have been wanting to do this for some time...
My rendition of a Child's Primitive Portrait, this one done by
Zedekiah Belknap(1781-1858) ~ 'Girl in White with Cat'.
This is my first try at portraits and hope to be doing others.
I have been getting the itch to do more painting ... so here it is,
8" x 10" canvas board using acrylics and pencil.
Not sure about framing...maybe a faux graining technique...maybe not!

Now I have to get back to my PS Santa Ornament with 2 down ... am on my 3rd with 5 more to go.
For me it is a slow process, but I have also been under the weather with a touch of bronchitis.  Doing much better but still have the awful nagging dry tickle of a cough.
Anyways, I do get bored doing the same thing for too long, so thought I'd take the time to switch gears and paint ... I did! Now back to my counted X-stitch as I have a schedule that must be met by Christmas.

Thanks for visiting ... Have a great weekend and 4th of JULY too.

  6. Thanks so much Nancy ... I appreciate your inspiring comment. Well...I am thinking about selling them, but for now I want to enjoy as I am so pleased showing her off and sitting in my pewter cabinet. Still have to decide about a frame. Suppose I could sell not framed and let that be the new keeper's choice.

Thanks for visiting with 4th of July Blessings for ALL,
