A NEEDFUL FLOSS KEEP POT with LID

I have been working on these sweet, prim looking
NEEDFUL FLOSS KEEP POTS
for the last few days.
I LUV Punch Needle Art, and have been inspired to do something for the floss to help keep it
organized and out of the way while punching.
Sooo...
here is what I have been thinking & creating.
Paper mache pots have been sealed
and painted inside and out,
top and bottom.

A generous Center hole was added
in the LID for the thread.
The pot is 3" x 3" x 3" with enough
room for more than one spool of floss...
one of which is then pulled thru the
neat and tidy hole,
ready to thread the punch needle.

Aged trim was secured to the lid's rim.

The exterior of the bottom of the pot
was sealed & painted charcoal.

I found various primitive prints that
fit the project very nicely.

I am delighted (hope you are too) with how
great these turned out...
surely to become a Puncher's Dream come true.

These would be terrific gifts for special
'punching' friends
OR
Treat yourself Too.

FARM FRESH ~ SOLD
Let Freedom Ring-SHEEP ~ SOLD

Asking $12 each POT (PLUS SHIPPING)

MY SUNFLOWER PINCUSHION ~ OOAK

I LOVE THIS PINCUSHION
It is securely mounted (NO glue) on a vintage, wooden, textile spool that is 4 1/2" tall.
The wool is all hand dyed and felted...Sunflower center
is 3 1/2" round and has been firmly stuffed with poly fil.
Black, glass beads were added for extra interest.
Yellow sunflower petals radiate to a 7" diameter.
It is all firmly sewn and attached to the green wool
which is secured, again NO glue, to bakelite top of bobbin.

This has been handcrafted from my own pattern,

TRYING TO LEARN KNITTING ? ? ?

TRYING TO KNIT ? ? ?
This is a 'Tasha Tudor Kindred Spirit Shawl'...
I have admired her art and 1900's way of life (although not for me as I like the modern conveniences too well).

Tasha Tudo'rs hand knit shwla

For those who are not familiar she lived in Vermont Without running water, had a well, No electricity, used candles and lanterns and cooked over her wood burning stove & fireplace...so they say and it is written as such.

Here she is knitting and wearing one of her shawls and this is the design I am striving for.
It is just a big triangle that is wrapped around shoulders, secured with a shawl kind of pin to keep you warm and cozy during those bitter cold winter months just like in VT.
 ~ ~ ~
My counted cross stitching is progressing very slowly,
in between learning to knit.
There are way too many eyelet stitches that really slow me down.  but, that's what I get for not looking closer, before I decided to do this...I really like the sampler look.
It is a SAL pattern from Blackbird Designs.

I try to get some of it done daily and knit a little bit daily...Just does not always work out.

Just wanted to say Hi and for the Dads to
Enjoy the Father's Day weekend ahead...
We are staying home and kicking back as they say.
Maybe BBQ if not too windy and HOT (104 degrees).
 Peace for Everyone,

PUNCH NEEDLE Christmas Ornaments

Getting ready to do a Punch Needle Demonstration
"Christmas in July"
on the 28th of July.
Will be doing these 4 designs from one of
 Primitive Gatherings wool applique patterns.
Myself and other members of 'Creative Crafters'
will be demonstrating Punch Needle techniques
using these for some of the samples.
I will be making two more of each for Sandy's and
my cypress tree that we decorate
for the kitchen/nook area of our home.

These too will be included in our decorating.
They were made and used for our
Families last year's Holiday Festivities.
The 'St Nick" Star Santa is Doreen Frost's pattern.
~Just too cute~

The Demonstration will surely be Lots of Fun
and provide enjoyable camaraderie for our members
and non-members too...All are Welcome!

Just thought you might like to know...
Enjoy the rest of the day with much Peace for all,
Barb
